We've been asked more than a couple of times for the reasons of taking on such a great endeavor. Many a time we're faced with a skeptic approach, borderline cynic, saying the only reason to get involved in such a huge under-taking is for our own benefit.
In a sense, I suppose that is in fact true, for we thrive and get exhilarated with the challenge. These kind of competitions, of quite literally, astronomic proportions, as exactly our cup of tea.
Still, that is not the whole picture.
We honestly believe in our ability to enthuse people regarding science. Team SpaceIL has taken it upon itself to make this project more than just our own personal achievement, but something grander with a vastly profound impact. We wish to inspire young students, of all ages, to learn more and to aspire to excellence. We want to show how all those tedious, endless years of hard studying of mathematics, physics, engineering and so on accumulate to the point where we can literally say - the sky is not the limit.
As once said before, Team SpaceIL puts his money where his mouth is. We've been going around schools, lecture and talking with students, a lot of time as a fruitful joint effort with Unit for Science Oriented Youth and The Davidson Institute of Science Education, and always on the prowl for new recruits for educational guides.
Finally, this is reason we chose to become a non-profit organization. All proceeds will be donated for the advancement of technological education.
May this moon landing take us all further than out imaginations.
