Assembling a 150 lbs-f Engine

An Explanation:

This is a 150 lbs-f rocket engine that is being assembled for ground testing. As you can see it is extremely overengineered. The purpose of this is that this is a ground test engine for individuals to work with to get used to test firing rocket engines. It's bigger than merely a toy and requires serious respect. However, it's small enough that a relatively simple test stand that an individual can assemble (or small group or barely started company) can be used. It also has serious and significant safety factors involved.

The one above is a deliverable for a team for the nanosat launcher challenge. We are manufacturing another three: one for our own use and two for other teams. The next step prior to handing this over to the client is to do flow tests. First low pressure ones and then high pressure. Assuming all goes well there will be a video of those next week for your perusal. We may have a basic flame test done as well next week.

Wait and see.
