Synergy Moon is working with the Astronaut Teacher Alliance on the Moon Mars Atacama Research Stations (MMARS) project in Chile. This project will establish astrobiology labs and high fidelity Lunar and Martian habitats in the Atacama desert. The Atacama is the driest desert on Earth, with temperature ranges from -25c to +45c, low humidity and high levels of UV radiation. We will be testing all our lunar hardware as part of this project, and working with the Technology Transfer group to develop rover technologies that can be used for exploration and prospecting not only on the moon, but also here on earth. As part of the technology group we will build and test various construction, communications and exploration technologies for the habitats and labs. This project has recently been presented at the United Nations conference on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
