“It's amazing how the human race can react and what they can do when they are united. For decades, the "Space Frontier" was set apart by a barrier which was very difficult to overcome. However, thanks to the incentives provided by the XPF over these past few years, several teams headed by bold entrepreneurs around the world are engaging together in a competition where everybody - every player, every mind - will win independent of the outcome of the competition.

All of us know that one day, humanity will need to deal with the space challenges out there. We don’t know yet if it will ultimately help civilization survive the coming changes here on Earth, or help find new habitats to sustain the human race, or perhaps just allow us to use Space as a place to expand our cultural activities, like the old cavemen used their cave walls for their paintings.

In the end, maybe the need to avoid meteors colliding with our planet will prove to be the catalyst. We really don’t know where this will lead us, but we know that the knowledge that we gain in Space will be necessary at some future moment.

The GOOGLE LUNAR XPRIZE and XPRIZE FOUNDATION are motivating everyone to come and compete on a level playing field, and ensuring that all human citizens in our world start thinking about what it really means to succeed in the SPACE environment. This is compelling people to think together, to collaborate with each other, and also to enjoy a truly unique and healthy form of competition - an opportunity that rarely comes along.

We decided to participate because we believe that as members of the SPACEMETA TEAM, we will be better human beings after participating in this race, and that this quest for us will never end as a result. We hope that we will know more about our creativity and about our power to achieve what we set out to do. This will be of great value to future generations.
