Assessing or evaluating many ideas, suggestions, technical outlines and potential solutions is necessary so that everyone can see and appreciate the full scope of the undertaking in question. Sending the first private lunar rover to the moon, and operating a rover successfully on the lunar surface are very difficult tasks. The process of exploring a wide range of options, and assessing their true applicability - in terms of overall reliability, complexity and cost - may be far more interesting for team members than for most outside observers.
