The kick-off meeting for our "Engineering Meets Education” (EME) program is next week at the Huntsville Center for Technology (HCT). It has been a mess with all the snow here in the Rocket City that delayed our meeting last week. We are finally digging ourselves out of the third heaviest snow on record in Huntsville's history.

We are very excited about all the interest in the program. We expect about 40 volunteers at this first meeting based on RSVPs and feedback. This should be a productive exchange.

This program will provide opportunities for professionals who are currently working, retired or out of the job market to mentor students and network with other professionals who have a desire to mentor students who are ready to design and build landers and rovers. We plan to meet at least once a month at HCT to keep the designs and the hardware flowing.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Old Man Winter is through with us for awhile so we can keep the students excited, although missing school for a week because of snow is also pretty exciting to students!
