Welcome to the first blog from the Lunar Lion Team. We are very excited to be kicking things off here at Penn State, and look forward to keeping you up to date on our progress as we go through design, development, and, ultimately, the flight and landing of the Lunar Lion.

The Lunar Lion Team was formed through a collaboration of faculty from science and engineering disciplines across the University. The Penn State Team has already reached out and recruited Team members from outside the University to broaden and strengthen the Team. By bringing together this diverse group, we will be able to address all the challenges facing a mission to the Moon. In addition, we have already begun engaging students in our efforts, and hope to bring to them an experience they’ll find at only a handful of universities around the world.

We are working over the coming weeks to further define our mission concept, so look for updates as we refine our mission requirements, concept of operations and spacecraft design. Check our website (lunarlion.psu.edu)for updates as the Lunar Lion moves forward!
