Lunar Lander Eggs Prize Competition

It has been nearly a month in the making, so I am finally happy to announce the beginning of the Omega Envoy High School involvement program. One of the primary objectives of the Omega Envoy project is to involve the STEM curriculum to get students of all ages excited about space again. As college students, we started out with a decent amount of collegiate involvement, but had been looking at ways to get high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools involved. In fact, we have been approached by high school students to join the team.

The kick off to our high school involvement program will be the Lunar Lander Eggs Prize Competition to be showcased at the International Space Development Conference in May, 2009 in Orlando, Fl. High school teams will build "Lunar Landers" capable of carrying an egg safely from a high drop to the ground. They will be competing for some very exciting prizes: Grand Prize will be V.I.P. tickets for the entire team, teacher, and chaperone to an upcoming Space Shuttle Launch courtesy of Space Florida. The second place team will be awarded KSC Visitors Complex tickets for their team, teacher, and chaperone courtesy of Delaware North/KSC Visitors Complex.

All high schools are eligible to compete; please go to Omegaenvoy.com to apply.
