Once on the moon, Red Rover will collect and transmit many types of data, including images and sensor readings. Astrobotic plans to share mission data in real time with the public. The team is developing a website, Red Rover Live, which streams 3D camera images and displays visualizations of sensor readings and rover status.
Before the launch, Red Rover Live will broadcast field tests and events through Red Rover’s cameras and provide a new means of interaction with the mission and development of the rover and lander for fans. The site is one component of a much bigger project: the development of a mission control that allows members of the public to drive Red Rover over the lunar surface.
