I/O is operational to and from the inertial measurement unit. The IMU guides the flight-phase of the mission, and it navigates the rover during the surface phase.
Does the IMU contain both gyros and accelerometers? Is there any redundancy in the design or merit to placing two units at different places within a spinning craft?
Gyros?
