Team Angelicum present in COPUOS 2011 and progressing with Universities

Team Angelicum is moving on the mission definition working very hard in 2 lines of development: one with the classic robotic mission and the other through cubesats or microsats.

In the robotic mission we have been receiving the letters of intention of the universities to participate with this. Some of them are University of Santiago of Chile, Pontific Catholic University of Chile, Pontific Catholic University of Valparaíso, University of Valparaíso, with some meetings in our calendar.

With the University of Concepción, we have arrived to an agreement and we have already started working with the analysis of the mission and specifically with the study of the possible trajectories, propulsion systems, etc. In this Mr Nicola Chiacchio, graduated in Aeronautic Engineering, with mention in Aerospace Engineering, from the University “Federico II “ in Napoli (graduated with 109 of 110. now working in Aerospace Civil Engineer in the Faculty of Engineering of this University of Concepcion in Chile is now dedicated to this. Also, some student are defining with Nicola some special work of Thesis to obtain their degree.

In other aspects, last week was of relevant significance for Team Angelicum, because our Team Leader Klaus von Storch traveled to Vienna, Austria to participate in the UN COPUOS, as a official Member of the Delegation of Chile to this period of sessions begun the 1st of June and ending this coming 10th. In these sessions, the 2nd of June, the Executive Secretary of the Chilean Space Agency, Mr. Juan F. Acuña made a presentation in which a special mention was done with the title “Chilean Private Corporation in Space”, informing the participation of the Angelicum Investment in the field of Aerospace in Chile and the entry of the Team Angelicum in the international competition of Google Lunar X PRIZE.

Next Thursday 9th of June, PM, will be the special opportunity for Klaus von Storch to present to the Assembly the complete details of the participation of the Team Angelicum, representing to our country Chile in this competition, by means of graphic presentation. We will share with you some detail in a next blog.

We are very happy to see the names of Chile, Angelicum and GLXP in the United Nation Committee for Peaceful Uses the Outer Space, participating progressively in the space exploration!!
